Echinops (Mordovnik)
The honey that bees collect from the Echinops (Mordovnik) is part of the honey collected from herbs. It has a delicate aroma, light amber color and pleasant taste. Such honey contains useful biologically active components, so it is considered medicinal. Yield of mordowberry seeds reaches up to 20 quintals per hectare.
Echinops (Mordovnik) can grow in one place up to 20 years. Chalky and calcareous soils are favorable for its growth.
Seeds do not require pre-sowing preparation.
Echinops (Mordovnik) can be sown in late fall or spring, spreading on loosened soil at the rate of 10-12 kg of seeds per hectare. Sowing in a mixture with Phacelia citrifolium is possible, the ratio of seeds is 5 kg of mordanthus and 8 kg of phacelia per 1 hectare. Seed embedding depth should not exceed 2-3 cm and inter-row width is 70-80 cm. After sowing, a leaf rosette will grow from the seeds in the first year, and a flowering shoot will grow in the second year.
