Melilotus belongs to the melliferous plants of the legume family. An adult plant reaches a height of 90-150 cm and emits a coumarin smell. The stem is straight, branched at the base. This culture is drought-resistant. It grows on almost any soil, with the exception of damp soil. It has a very long flowering period of 40-50 days from mid-June to mid-August, and sometimes more, until late autumn. Sweet clover blooms 7-10 days later than yellow.
